Advancement to Candidacy
By: Lain Hostelley
The Graduate School and the Graduate Student Association would once more like to congratulate all those who became PhD candidates in 2016, and thank those that participated in the Advancement to Candidacy Ceremony on February 21st 2017.
During the ceremony the candidates and audience were treated to remarks from 2016 candidate and GSA President, Courtney Chandler, and Eric Lumsden, a fourth year in the Toxicology program. Courtney spoke on behalf of the candidates on what it meant to them to become a PhD candidate, while Eric gave a motivational, yet comical, talk on the highs and lows of the PhD journey and careers in science.
