Graduate School Doctoral Hooding Ceremony

Hooding

Day:Thursday, May 14, 2009
Location:Medical School Teaching Facility Auditorium Enter through 685 West Baltimore Street
Time:Graduates and Mentors should line up outside of the  MSTF auditorium at 5:30 pm, dressed in regalia. The Ceremony will take place from 5:45 - 8 pm followed by a lite fare supper.
Tickets:Email Dr. Erin Golembewski by April 27, 2009 to confirm your attendance and reserve your guest tickets (up to four per graduate).
Regalia:Academic Regalia must be worn at both the Doctoral Hooding Ceremony and Commencement.  The cap and gown can be purchased at the University Bookstore (call 6-7788) located on the first floor of the Student Center at Pine Street or online through April 17, 2009. PhD regalia is a black cap with gold tassel and a black gown with blue panels and chevrons. Doctorial hoods will be provided by the Graduate School at the Ceremony in MSTF. If you attend Commencement but not the Hooding Ceremony, your hood will be given to you before the Commencement procession.  Hoods will be mailed to students not attending the Doctoral Hooding Ceremony or Commencement.
Photographer:An official photograhper will take pictures of the graduate with his/her mentor(s).

Commencement
Diplomas will be presented at UMB's Commencement, scheduled for Friday, May 15, 2009 at 3:00 pm at the First Mariner Arena.  See the Commencement Web site for additional information. No tickets required.

Fees
During the month of March, students will receive the bill for their diploma and graduation fee. Students should contact Student Accounting (6-2930) with any questions. Diplomas will not be released to students with outstanding balances.

Confidentiality Flag and Graduation
If you have placed a confidentiality flag on your student account, your name will not appear in any Graduation materials including the Commencement Program, Doctoral Hooding Program, List of Award Recipients, etc.  To remove your Confidentiality Flag before graduation, log-in to your SURFS account and make changes by April 27, 2009
