The Graduate Student Association  is a student-run organization comprising the graduate population of the University of Maryland.  Representatives from over 20 participating programs throughout the Baltimore campus attend the GSA's monthly meetings and relay information back to their fellow students.  GSA Representatives are a great source of information on graduate programs, graduate student events, and the university.

The principal goals of the GSA are to:

  • act as a liason to the Graduate School
  • communicate student concerns and ideas
  • support graduate student research interests
  • provide a platform for discussion on matters that affect graduate student life at the university

The GSA coordinates many services and programs , including awards and grants, orientation, social events, a research conference, and a graduation ceremony for Ph.D. students.

Meetings:  The GSA holds meetings at 5 p.m. on the first Wednesday of each month in the First Floor Student Lounge, Student Center at Pine Street.
